There are Slimline Featherbed Frames
There are Wideline Featherbed Frames...
This is the Legendary Featherbed MANX RACING SPECIFICATION frame.
Those are referred to as "production frames" and were widely used on assembly line production bikes.
This is the version designed for the MANX Racer.
At first glance they look the same, however the nomenclature of this frame is different and the LIGHTWEIGHT Chromoly tubing is less than half the thickness of the production frames and 40% stronger.
While there is a lot of misnomers about these legendary frames, one thing stands true; THEY WERE A GAME CHANGER WHEN NORTON DEVELOPED THEM FOR THEIR RACING TEAM IN THE VERY LATE FORTIES. Few changes were made from the originals but they dominated the racing scene for over 10 years.
No Shame in saying I FAITHFULLY COPIED an original that a collector friend has in his Norton Museum.
Unlike the original that is brazed (superior aerospace technology at the time) we GTAW weld these (present aerospace technology) from certified 1040 alloy Aircraft tubing. Giving them Superior Lightweight advantage over the originals
You simply cannot buy a better Featherbed frame.
Ask me about swing arms and motor mount adapter plates for various motor conversions.
the WIDELINE IS THE TRUE MANX FRAME.
Available in mild steel 1/8" tube wall and Chromoly 1/16"or .065 (factory racers .050), the Lightweight version half the weight and 40% stronger (comparable mass).
Wideline Featherbed Chromoly......... $2,195.00 USD
Twin or motor mount tabs included
